HPLC purity testing

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separates the main component from accompanying impurities and produces the area-percent figure shown on the product page.

Mass-spectrometry identity

Mass spectrometry (MS) compares the observed mass of the molecule with the theoretical molecular weight derived from the stated molecular formula, confirming the identity of the material.

Appearance and homogeneity

A visual inspection records colour, physical state, and homogeneity of the batch, and is noted on the certificate of analysis.

Batch documentation for blends and formulations

For multi-component blends and proprietary formulations, analytical evaluation refers to the composition and acceptance criteria of the individual batch, since a single CAS number does not apply.
